Speaking of shows that feel like they haven’t been seen in years, this was another one that I forgot still existed. That first season was wild and crazy and weird, and I actually can’t believe they came up with something for a second season at all. Supposedly it takes a totally different turn from what was going on in the first (though it still appears they’re keeping with a kind of time loop thing), so I’ll be checking it out when the whole season drops on Netflix next week.
'Barry' Finally Returns for Season 3 on April 24th
Wow, it’s been so long I’ve almost forgotten what happened last season (and that it ended on a cliffhanger). Barry was a really great show, so hopefully the long delay between seasons hasn’t blunted its momentum. I’m looking forward to seeing it again, anyway.
'The Flight Attendant' Returns for Season 2 on April 21
This was one of my favorite shows from 2020, and it’s back for Season 2 starting April 21st. Kaley Cuoco returns as Cassie the flight attendant turned CIA asset, but now it’s departing from source material, as the first season was based on a book and now it has to go original. Some shows definitely struggle with that (see The Handmaid’s Tale) but hopefully this one can overcome that barrier.
WGA TV Awards Go For 'Hacks,' 'Maid,' 'Succession'
The Writers Guild gave out its TV awards tonight as well as its features- they chose Hacks over Ted Lasso, same as the Emmys did in writing, while honoring Mare of Easttown, Maid, Conan and Full Frontal, so that’s a cool deviation from the norm.

New Teaser for 'The Boys' Season 3 Shows a Lot of Bloody Action
The first teaser for The Boys is very, well, The Boys, but I always prefer the full trailer to be honest. This show sure knows its audience, doesn’t it? Butcher with powers should be interesting. The show starts up again June 3rd, when Amazon will drop the first three episodes.
BFCA Anoints 'Succession' and 'Ted Lasso' in TV
I’m less aggravated by the BFCA’s TV picks, because at least here they do often pick what they want- like Melanie Lynskey in Yellowjackets. But they did match the Emmy winners quite a bit here with lots of love for Succession, Ted Lasso and Mare of Easttown. But along with Yellowjackets mention, we get nods for The White Lotus and Squid Game.

'Better Call Saul's Final Season Premieres April 18th
YES! Now this one I’m psyched about. One of the best shows on TV, Better Call Saul is finally back with its split in two parts last season, with the first half starting in April, and the second half in July. Bob Odenkirk’s near fatal heart attack brought a lot of publicity to the making of this final season, but he was ultimately able to come back and complete the series. Can’t wait to see how it all ends.
Ewan MacGregor Returns as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Disney+ Limited Series
Well, he’s back. Twenty years after Revenge of the Sith, we get to see if Ewan MacGregor’s performance has changed at all (or more interestingly, Hayden Christensen’s, who’s also returning as Darth Vader). I’ll admit to being somewhat curious about it, so I’ll check it out.
Trailer for Season 2 of 'Bridgerton' is Here
I guess I’ll give this a shot but I’m not particularly thrilled about the whole concept of this series, what with changing leads every season. I wasn’t that into the brother in the first season anyway, and now no Duke? Eh.
'Ted Lasso' and 'Succession' Casts Win Top SAG Awards; 'Squid Game' Actors Triumph
Things were interesting on the TV side at SAG tonight, where the two lead actors from Squid Game shocked with surprise upsets and led to me think the show had to win ensemble, only to come up short to Succession after all, which…I can’t quite figure out why. If they liked Succession that much, how did the actors not win? Was there vote splitting going on? In limited series, veterans Kate Winslet and Michael Keaton won, which is in keeping with traditional SAG tendencies (and Keaton’s heartfelt speech was the most emotional of the night), while comedy went to Emmy winners Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis and Jean Smart.
